My Story
Founded in 2017 by Julie Craig, Meraki Creatives was born out of a true case of serendipity.
I (Julie) graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 1995 but decided to pursue a career in education as a teacher. Over the years, I utilized my artistic skills and graphic design background in various ways (yearbook, newsletters, flyers, invitations, etc.) mostly on a volunteer basis.
After Super Storm Sandy damaged our home, I picked up a second job as a server to help with the cost of repairs and lifting our home. As a teacher, I am a naturally organized person so my bosses asked me to help with booking private parties and events for the restaurant. When they discovered that I also had a background in graphic design, I was asked to manage the restaurant’s social media marketing, design their menus and plan large scale community events…Meraki Creatives, LLC was born!
